Terms of Sale

Who you are buying from

This website and the products sold on it are operated by The First Conversation, a sole trader business registered in the United Kingdom. You can contact us at any time at support@thefirstconversation.com. We aim to answer every email within two working days.

What you are buying

The First Conversation is a set of eight written digital guides, supplied as downloadable files. An optional additional guide, The Seven Nights, may be purchased at checkout. Nothing sold here is a physical product, a service, a subscription, or a consultation.

Everything is delivered immediately after payment. There is no waiting period and no recurring charge of any kind.

Payment

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details. Prices are shown and charged in US dollars. If your card is denominated in another currency, your bank or card issuer sets the exchange rate and may add its own fee, which is outside our control.

Launch pricing is genuine. Where the site states that a price will rise on a given date, it will.

Your licence to use the guides

When you buy, you get a personal, non-transferable licence to read and use the guides yourself. You are welcome to print them for your own use.

You may not resell them, republish them, share the download links publicly, or distribute copies. The contents are protected by copyright.

Who can buy

You must be at least 18 years old to purchase.

Availability and changes

We may update the guides over time. If we do, existing customers keep access to what they bought. We may change prices, withdraw products, or stop selling entirely at any point, but this will never affect a purchase you have already made.

Limitation of liability

The guides are educational material. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you in connection with any purchase is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud or for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. This does not remove any statutory rights you have as a consumer in your own country.

Refund Policy

Thirty days, no questions. Read it. If it does not tell you something you did not already know, or you decide it is not for you, email us within 30 days of purchase and we will refund you in full. You keep the guides. You do not have to explain why, and you will not be asked.

How to request one

Email support@thefirstconversation.com from the address you used to buy, or tell us which address you used. That is the whole process. There is no form.

How long it takes

We process refunds through Stripe as soon as we see the email, normally within two working days. Once processed, the money typically takes a further five to ten working days to appear on your statement, depending on your bank.

The optional add-on

The Seven Nights is covered by exactly the same 30-day policy, whether you bought it alongside the guides or on its own.

Your statutory rights

For customers in the UK and EU: digital products supplied immediately are normally exempt from the standard 14-day cancellation right once download has begun, because you consented to immediate delivery at checkout. Our 30-day policy above is offered voluntarily and is more generous than that. It does not affect any other statutory right you have.

Privacy Notice

This section explains, plainly, what happens to information about you when you use this site.

What we collect when you buy

  • Your email address and payment details, collected by Stripe at checkout so your purchase can be processed and your files delivered. We can see your email address and the fact that a payment succeeded. We cannot see your full card number.
  • Basic order information, such as what you bought, when, and the amount.

We use this to deliver what you paid for, to handle refunds, and to answer support emails. Lawful basis: performance of a contract with you.

What we collect when you simply visit

Two third-party tools run on this website and they load for every visitor:

  • Meta (Facebook) Pixel. This tells Meta that a device visited a page here, and, if you buy, that a purchase happened and its value. We use it to measure whether our advertising is reaching the right people. We do not send Meta your name or the contents of anything you type.
  • Microsoft Clarity. This records anonymised session information, such as how far down a page people scroll and where they click, so we can see which parts of the page are confusing. It is configured not to capture the contents of form fields.

Both set cookies in your browser. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in understanding and improving how this website performs.

How to stop it

You can block or delete these cookies at any time in your browser settings, and all major browsers let you block third-party cookies entirely. You can control how Meta uses data about you for advertising in your Facebook and Instagram ad preferences at facebook.com/adpreferences. Blocking any of this has no effect on your ability to use the site or to buy.

What we never do

We do not sell your data. We do not share your email address with advertisers or data brokers. We do not add you to a mailing list as a result of buying, and we do not send marketing emails unless you have separately asked us to.

How long we keep things

Order and payment records are kept for six years, because tax law requires it. Support emails are kept for two years. Analytics data is retained according to Meta's and Microsoft's own retention periods.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email support@thefirstconversation.com and we will respond within one month. If you are in the UK you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

A note on discretion. We understand this is a private subject. Your purchase appears on your statement under a neutral descriptor, not the name of this site. We do not send unsolicited email, and we will never contact you about this purchase unless you contact us first or your download fails.
